I've had the same thing happen when listing using the similar item function. Not everytime, but maybe 1 in 5. Very annoying. I thought it was just me or a random eBay glitch. Glad to know it's happened to others. Now they just need to fix it.

Try another browser to see if that makes a difference.

In the past, such issues have been linked to certain browser plug-ins like grammar checkers or language tools.

If the item description is the last field touched before submitting listing, try touching a different field without making any additional changes before you list, just in case the issue is the last field not being updated properly.
