Insertion Fees

We have a Premium store, 1000 free insertions per month, $.10 per inception after.  We are currently at exactly 223 insertions for the month of September, but as of Friday, September 11, 2020, we have getting charged the per listing $.10 insertion fee.  In addition, they allotted all of our 1000 insertions to OLD listings, that have been up for months and already had insertions fees paid for them (we upgraded to Premium in June).  Further, they are continually charging insertion fees throughout the day, for listings that are a year old in some cases.  We have tried for three days to have eBay call us with the 'have us call you feature' and they have not responded once.  We cannot pull a real time report for the month to see exactly how many inception fees have been charged, as that is not a searchable parameter within the ne eBay Managed Payments system.

Has anyone else encountered this label of egregious overcharging for insertions, and has anyone else not been able to contact eBay?  We have utilized the 'have us call you' option dozens of times in the last six months, and they have never once not called back within the estimated time.

It truly feels like there has been a breakdown within eBay regarding insertion fees, and they are now avoiding sellers who need to find out why their account has been thoroughly messed up.

I am including a screen shot of our four most recent charges, all insertion fees, from today.  One was posted new today (though is only our 223rd insertion for the month), and the other three are from between three to ELEVEN months ago.

We have not had any performance defects, suppressions, suspensions, etc., anything that would cause thousands of listings to be deactivated and reinserted at once.  This is an ongoing thing, and we have no idea how long it will take to go through each page of the EMP transactions to sort them all out and find out how much we have been charged in error; we have to wait for our monthly invoice.

Any help or advice is appreciated, mostly hope someone at eBay actually sees this and finally calls us back.  Put in a request at 11 a.m. this morning (CDT), and as of 11:59 are still waiting (original wait time was "1 minute").

Re: Insertion Fees

Premium store gets 1000; Good Till Cancelled means the 1000 will continue on, but will be charged (or free with store). You have almost 3000 listings, so you will be charged for anything over 1000.

These fees will be billable at the end of the month and therefore nothing to do with MP. You can look at your 'account' and 'fees' and see the detailed daily amounts paid until the 'monthly' statement, which is available at top right hand corner of 'account'.

Re: Insertion Fees

When/how do they determine to re-charge for an insertion?  this is not something we have encountered before.  I could understand more if we were killing and relisting with new item IDs, but they are just rolling listings with the original listing number.  The first two months of our premium store upgrade they did not retroactively charge year-old insertions, and they did not arbitrarily use our full 1000 insertions for GTC listings.  We upgraded to SAVE money, and now they are charging more (because, as you mentioned, we have a TON of listings).  I really appreciate the response, but it doesn't make a lot of sense based on what we have been charged during our tenure as an eBay business.  If you have any way to further clarify, I am all ears.  Thanks.

Re: Insertion Fees

Your free insertions each month aren't just for new insertions.

Each of your listings uses up one of your free insertions (1) when you start the listing; and then (2) every month when it rolls over, on the same date as it began.   "Good until canceled" doesn't mean that you only pay for the initial insertion. You pay for each listing (or use up one of your free insertions for it)  every month.

Today is the 16th, so all of your listings that started between the first and 15th day of ANY month have already rolled over for September, using up your free insertions for the month.

Re: Insertion Fees

Exactly how 'nobody's_perfect' described it... insertions are charged once a month, even for 'old' ones. They keep the same 'item' number (hence the 'good till CANCELLED') so that the item is searchable in google etc. If it got a new number every month, the search may pick up an item, but when you click on it, it would be a dead listing.

Re: Insertion Fees

Your fixed price listings have always used up a free insertion each month when they roll over.  If you hadn't noticed any fee before, perhaps it was because of the number of listings and/or the number of free insertions you were getting.  Good Until Canceled listings have always used up a free insertion when they roll over, this is not something new.

Re: Insertion Fees

Thanks  but I was charged on the first of the month with a full allotment of  1000  for premium store.  20 year seller here :).   I  had not used  up 1000  listings on the first of the month.   All should check their fees  it seems I am not alone  a number of other sellers  are being charged also.

Time is the most precious gift, Thank you for yours,
