Insertion Fee Credits?

With my Ebay store I'm allotted 250 free auction listings per month and then after that it costs $0.25 per listing.  If the item sells the $0.25 has always been credited back to my account.

Last week I listed 260 auctions at $0.25 apiece and 75% of them sold...I haven't received a single credit for any of them.  Did Ebay take away the auction fee credit or is this a technical issue that is being worked on at the moment?

Insertion Fee Credits?

I am experiencing the same problem with auctions. I have listed thousands of auctions this month and not one single insertion fee credit was received after the item sold. I am out hundreds of dollars in insertion fee credits. I have contacted eBay several times about the issue and they keep telling me it has been escalated to their technical team but they acknowledge the problem. However, no resolution has been provided to date and they will not give me a timeframe as to when the issue will be fixed.

Did your auctions meet all of these criteria @cobra_viper @mrms-sports-cards-and-collectibles ? If the answer is yes then there may be some sort of delay in crediting the fee.

Insertion fee credits for auction-style items that sell

If you have a Basic, Premium, Anchor, or Enterprise eBay Store subscription, you'll receive an insertion fee credit if your auction-style listing sells. It's important to keep the following things in mind:

  • Your listed item must be in the auction-style format. Fixed price listings, Classified Ads, Motors vehicles, Real Estate, and select Business & Industrial categories are not eligible for insertion fee credits
  • Only insertion fees are credited. Listing upgrade fees aren't credited
  • If your item sells, you're charged a final value fee
  • Your Basic, Premium, Anchor, or Enterprise eBay Store subscription must be active at the time the listing is created to receive an insertion fee credit when the item sells
  • If you relist an item and it sells, you're credited the insertion fee that was charged for the relisted item
  • If you originally listed the item as a zero insertion fee auction-style listing, there won't be a credit or refund for an insertion fee

Yes, my items met the criteria listed above, that is why I am thinking it is a technical issue. In prior months I received the insertion fee credits, it has only been this month it stopped. Also, when I contacted eBay they seemed to acknowledge a problem and said they would escalate it to the technical team.  However, it just seems to be taking a long time for a resolution. Thanks

Of course they do...and in prior months I've been credited the same day the items sell...but not this month.

I contacted customer service through Facebook and they said before they can report it to their technical team they need every single listing item number that is affected by this...so I'm supposed to go through all 260+ auctions and copy and paste the item numbers to give to them...

Send them a scrolling screenshot or two?

For a billing error eBay does need the full list of impacted item numbers, but generally that's account-specific.

Because multiple sellers are reporting this problem, eBay should be OK with just a few item numbers so they can look into the tech issue and fix this for all impacted sellers.

Can you post 3-4 item numbers here @cobra_viper @mrms-sports-cards-and-collectibles ?

And we'll tag devon@ebay elizabeth@ebay kyle@ebay to make sure this gets in front of the right team.

Hello @cobra_viper, and thank you for the tag @wastingtime101. In this scenario, the best course of action is to continue reaching out to customer service so they can work with the technical team and for further steps regarding credits. I have confirmed there are no open ALERTS at this time.

I contacted eBay several times and they said it was escalated to their technical team and they are working on it. I was given a number SR# 1-498183449663 to reference for future follow ups. I told them I would follow up again this Friday if it is not resolved by then.

The problem with that is that I don't know 100% which of the 261 listings I am supposed to be credited for.  I still had 30-something free listings when I started listing the items last week and customer service wanted a complete list of the exact item numbers.

Download a transaction report for the affected time period and filter out any unneeded transaction types.

https://www.ebay.com/sh/fin/report

Pull it into Excel then sort the results by item number. See which results were both charged an insertion fee and resulted in a sale.
