This morning the image uploade is experiencing some severe issues. Images don't upload on first attempt. When trying to reupload, the spinning green wheel just keeps spinning. I have to save draft, go out, get back in, select "complete draft" and then images load.
Using the editor to rotate images, it shows them correct after hitting Save, but when completing the listings, images revert back to original position. Then I have to Revise and fix images again. It has happened on the last three listings I was trying to create.

Hi Trinton can you just take 1 look at the posts on this tech board about Photos
It's a mess with post after post . I don't think it is browser related. There is something wrong
I am on Windows 10 with Edge , I have been able to get maybe 2 pictures then have to X out all the
Others trying to upload, Then save to draft then go back & do 2 at a time .
I have done many listings in the last few days with less photos because it's taking to much time to list this way.
Something is wrong
And the list of posts about this is not just this board

This is happening to me now, it started last night on 11/8 and still happenind on 11/9. I have tried clearing cache/cookies/history, restarting browser, using Chrome and Firefox, what a pain, and I thought I could get some work done today. Did anyone find a way to clear this issue? The workaround (saving as draft then uploading photos) sometimes freezes up too.

Ebay is becoming a Joke .. Taking forever to load pictures .. I Cant spend half hour to list an item that should take 5 minutes.
It seems like there is no one even looking at the same kind of items I have been selling for 5 years.. I am doing the same thing I always have..I am hearing this from many other sellers ..Sales seem to be down for everyone across the board
My husband thinks the only way to make money with ebay in the future is to short the stock.
Its a shame , I was making good money and having so much fun ..

Good Morning, Trinton.
The issue is intermittent, so it is hard to pinpoint. It happens, and has been happening.
Yesterday, creating seven new listings in a row, the image uploader was fine for the first three listings with multiple pictures. On the fourth listing, the uploader died on the first image. Had to delete all, Save as a Draft, and go to Complete Draft.
From there it let me upload 2 images before stopping to work again, so Save again and start over. It took 3-4 attempts to upload the images.
For the remaining listings, the uploader worked as it should. Thus, it is hard to pinpoint what causes it and why. Hope this helps.

Still happening, for the third time this week. I'm beginning to lose my patience.
So sure, let's just all side with eBay's tech support and start blaming it on our browsers and operating systems. Uh, how about NO. It's clearly an issue with overloads during peak times of day, hence eBay's fault. STOP blaming the customer. You'd think that once you've heard from enough people, you'd think there was a pattern to the issue, huh? SMH
And you can't tell me that, when you charge people hundreds a month to list their stuff, that you can't afford to or aren't capable upgrading your servers and/or bandwidth to accomodate the traffic. This issue is inex-freaking-scusable and needs to be fixed immediately before your PAYING customers begin overloading your call centers demanding refunds for lost time.
I repeat. INEX-FREAKING-SCUSABLE.
I have 17 years on eBay, with a calm demeanor and darn clean record. And it takes a lot to tick me off. Please, eBay, don't start with me.
Have a nice day!

In the meantime I'll just take more pictures and list during slower hours. I have that luxury, but I wouldn't imagine everyone else does.
Either way, I'll expect the issue to be fixed with in a calendar week. ONE WEEK!!

Same thing here. Cant upload pics has been happening for days. I have to save draft and start over. Ebay needs to fix this junk...What is it 1995 and they didnt prepare enough servers for xmas 2017. All around slow everything. Every page loads slow...My landing page doesnt even ever fully load....

I'm having uploading issues also. I notice that ebay has it's own editing program in the uploading. The part of this story that is sad is ebay would change their uploading during the Xmas season. What do we have time and editing programs on our own computers for that ebay thinks we want to edit our photos with their program during Xmas. I don't mind ebay doing something different but not during the busiest time of the year.

The editing option has been there for a long time. I've been using it for at least 2 years to rotate images and crop them, instead of using my own editing program. In the past, my own edited images would sometimes not upload correctly because of eBay's sze/resolution requirements, so I just started uploading full resolution images to eBay and cropping them to meet their square window.
This was not a problem until mobile came along, where rectangular images would display stretched out to meet the square requirement. The simp,e eBay edit function on images actually worked fine for a while, and has probably nothing to do with the upload issues.

Thank You for the reply. I've been on ebay so long that how big the size was mattered. I'm researching learning because I now have an iphone, on which the images are 42" x 42" at 72. Can you imagine trying to load that back in the day? So can you load an unedited iphone photo, then use ebay's editing program? Ebay recommends 90 or higher quality. Does that matter with these new LARGER photos?
Anyway, one of my issues, images not showing up in gallery, has been resolved and now show up beautifully in the new to me, LARGE pop up window.
The VERY BEST feature of ebay has always been the discussion boards 🙂
When I go to revise a listing, all my images are "red mountain" blacked out in the uploading area but are working in the listing.
So for me I can list using Safari and will keep trying different size or maybe iphone photos or working on finding out why my "files are corrupted"
I'm one of the ebay corrupted for sure 🙂

I don't know about phone photos. I use a real camera in a photo booth, so all my images are rectangles. I try to crop the main photo (once uploaded) to be as square as possible with the eBay software, because that prevents the awful "stretching" when displayed on mobile.
Yes, I can't imagine the file sizes we used back in the day. My first ever digital camera had resolution of 0.7 MegaPixels, IIRC. And we thought how awesome that was. 🙂

Interesting the square part with iphone size and all. I'm a mid elder 66 going on 67 and have my 1st smart phone. You know the saying "kicking & screaming" well not quite but something nicely and kindly along the same lines. Everything photographically is having to look at "BIG FACES" knowing that a lot of right wing "celebrities" have some karmic "pimples."
I stopped cropping photos years ago to fit within ebay's at least 648 (if memory serves me) by, to at least 800 to 1600 on the longest side. I loved to crop for effect. The art of to photograph.
I need a new camera is what the story probably is. Mine is 16 years old a nikon 990 coolpix but it's always taken beautiful, especially close up photos. Even my newer imac doesn't accept it. You'd think there'd be leeway as unedited the photos are like 3" by 4". Maybe I've been using the wrong bicubic. I've been using "for reduction" when I should be using "for enlargement" or just simply just "smooth gradients."
anyway on to learning or so they say...
I resized and got an iphone photo to take but with the the same corrupted "red mountain." Banished to the red mountain zone. Been there, done that. Shall return (?)

My gf and I have been struggling with this problem for weeks. Windows 10 Chrome browser. Pics load fine, then one randomly stops loading and none after that load. I delete all spinning wheel ones and retry and USUALLY that fixes it. Lately I've had to save as draft, go back in and reload. USUALLY that works. Also cropping and saving takes forever sometimes, and sometimes locks up at 100% done but click off and back on that pic and it's back to 0% and not saved. I have to delete the photo and reload. What a pain. I know computers and servers and systems are hard so I'm paitient but eBay never seems to report an actual problem like this, or tells us it's resolved. Getting tired of paying for something that doesn't work.
