I sell mostly clothing items. Since ebay decided to add all of these additional item specifics, my sales have tanked. Ebay has added so many additional specifics that the size and other information is being duplicated in the listing. When they made this change we all had to revise our listing so that the size would show. It just seems like a lot of needless work.
With the markdown manager not working and all of these changes to clothing specifics, you would think ebay would make some sort of announcement in the seller hub telling us that they are aware of these issues. It seems like the sellers are getting the silent treatment here which is very concerning

EBay did make announcements and updates since October 15th when the problem reared its ugly head:
The fields that are duplicative and irrelevant can be left blank. I too sell clothing and spent a considerable amount of time adjusting and revising my items.
I hope that is helpful.

Some of the IS's are mapped finally, but they're still a mess in that many are irrelevant, there are important very common specifics missing (types of fabric, sizes, etc.) and a lot of irrelevant junk. I participated in the Jordan Sweetnam "ask me anything" with a question about when this would be overhauled but I doubt it would get anywhere near that "top 5", even though Fashion is a big category.
What's sad is that the taxonomy, at least on the basic level, could be fixed with the slightest review of methods used by most online clothing catalogers, offering buyers a search experience consistent with other sites and sellers a stable platform for listing.

@chapeau-noirMight bring it up in my post on the AMA about site issues. I mentioned it as part of the constant site issues. I don't sell clothing so I am not quite as familiar with the problems. Might not hurt to have someone more experienced to elaborate in more detail. Also community chat is today in an hour.
