I get weird search results unintentionally

I'm having a very weird experience recently when I try to browse ebay.

I ofter just like to see what's up for sale so I just wanna browse everything. I go into Toys&Hobbies, click Search. Then I click on Diecast &Toy vehicles, then Cars: Racing & NASCAR... and then the weird stuff begins! I can still select the subcategories (Rally, F1, NASCAR etc.) but whenever I try to narrow down the selection to anything else (brand, scale, condition, whatever), I got an apparently random six digit number in the search bar and - obviously - no results. I fI delete the six digits, I get the results. But If I wanna browse the next page, the same six digits are back and I can't check out the next page becasue if I delete those digits, I'm back to page 1!

Those random six digits are always there. Well, not completely random, they are always teh same six digits, based on what category I'm in and what narrowing down I'm selecting. And they don't even seem to be appear in the search bar on every occasion. For example, if I try to narrow down to scale, the weird seach result appears. But then if I narrow it down to make as well, it doesn't....

I tried to delete the catche, I tired to delete the history, checked for any malwares, but nothing works. I tried this on various browsers, everything has the same issue. Any idea what's happening?

ps. I posted this topic in the wrong trhead before...

There is nothing wrong on your end; the problem seems to be with eBay's search. This has been going on for the last two weeks or so.

See here for further details:

So far the only real workaround I've found is to bookmark individual searches.

Using Firefox I am able to add new terms to a bookmarked in-category search, run the search, and only then delete the original terms, and run the search again. If I simply overwrite the terms in the search bar, the results default to "all categories".

My recollection of this seven month old thread is that it involved some site-wide problem regarding searches that produced some odd search behavior such as spontaneous category changes from a narrow category to "all categories", and category numbers suddenly appearing as search keywords, but that those particular problems went away after a week or so and have not recurred as far as I can tell.

If you are having current problem with searches, please describe exactly what searches you are doing and how they are failing -- if you could include an actual search URL that would be very helpful, but if not, at least a list of your search terms and any category or filter information if that matters.
