For the life of me what do I need to do to talk to an actual human?
I get like the following.
"Since you didn't see what you needed, please rephrase how I can help.

Try contacting eBay via social media if you do not want a call back.
eBay used to have a chat link available, but eBay removed the link from the contact page above. It is possible that there are certain issues with human chat options if you follow a particular branch in the chat assistant, but those options may change over time and I doubt anyone has a currently working chat link that can be shared.

If nothing else works, try this link to request a call back between 5am to 9:30pm Pacific Time:

If you are unable to get a call back, try contacting eBay via social media:

All I ever needed to do was type AGENT in the chat then I am asked if I want a call back. They usually call within minutes.

Yeah I specifically do NOT want a call back. I want to talk to someone in the chat. Not a call...

That's so dumb they got rid of it. What to save paying someone a few dollars an hour to handle cases? Ebay is going down hill.

Thousands of calls a day times the hourly wage for someone that can actually be of any help (that means not the off-shore CS that you can get a call back from, and very likely in a chat) would be a tidy sum. Much more than eBay is going to be paying.
To be considered is the # of calls that would be received that are not even in need of CS level assistance.
Beyond that. I reread the thread.
Post #1 you insist that you want to talk to a human.
Post #4 you say you want a "chat" session.
