For about three weeks, followed searches are no longer working in the eBay app. I used to be able to pull up followed searches, and get a blue indicator when one of my followed searches had new results since I had reviewed the search last.
Now, I no longer get an indicator within the app - but I still get new app notifications that new results exist. Additionally, clicking on the name of the followed search just reloads the list - it doesn't take me to a list of results at all.
I cleared cache and app data in two separate attempts, based on some speculation I found online. Then, I resorted to uninstalling / re-installing the app. That didn't fix the problem.
Tonight, I gave in and called eBay support. They didn't have any answers, and recommended I uninstall / re-install the app again. I did follow that recommendation, but the app is still showing the same behavior - no notifications of new listings and reloading the followed search name.
Is anyone else having a similar issue? Is there a known resolution? I use that new followed searches feature almost every day, I believe its unique to the app to review everything that is new...

i don't have the app, but the ebay website is not correctly loading in new items in the search terms / categories that i follow. it's been this way for a few weeks now at least.
looking now, it seems that the categories that i used to follow have changed, and are pointed to a more specific category (ie, "other paintball) instead of the more broad category ("paintball"). so i would look at that...maybe try unfollowing your current terms and following them again?

In taking an example followed search, what displays on the screen doesn't appear to have changed - in respect to your example provided around 'paintball'.
Regardless, I removed the search and refollowed just to try and see what happens. I'll post an update tomorrow.
I did notice on my phone today - may have been there before, but seems new - that each followed search says "No Alerts, Refinements" below, which seems strange.

Checking my phone today, for the search I unfollowed and re-followed, no change. I am still not getting new notifications for that search or any other - and the list of saved searches still reloads when clicking an individual search.

only happens to me, for a short period of time. If I wait and refresh, they all magically come back.

I am having this same issue now, but a few of the 19 searches I follow will show new items, though never the amount that should be there (i.e. Guitar & Bass shows under 200 items, when it used to be in the 1000's). This happened to me a year or so ago and I had to uninstall and reinstall an older version (you all remember, the one that actually worked) below the 4.0 versions. I just recently got a new phone, so the app reinstalled with the newest version, though it has worked for the past few months, only now not working. I can't remember where I found the older version, I think someone had placed a link in am old app re use from when eBay screwed the pooch the first ti.e they updated what was a perfectly good working app.

And still no change in my app, even with some newer updates - whether that matters or not. I haven't been using the app at all, which has been nice for my pocketbook 🙂

Anyone had this issue resolved? Or found a consistent solution?

@mobile_feedback- Is this something you can help with, this is a really frustrating issue - especially since I'm not sure if the original behavior is still supported or not.

Thank you for the posts. This issue should be fixed in the next update of the Android app.
Thanks!

I can only comment on my experiences...
I've had 4 responses in 30 min. from the support email address. I would say that is amazingly responsive, now that I found the appropriate channel to communicate.
The post in this thread, as you can see, got no response. Multiple calls into support also didn't yield any results - just a generic "we'll pass that information along to our engineering team"
