Many have posted of problems on eBay when using Firefox browser. Most of these problems can be fixed by doing a Refresh in Firefox. This resets Firefox back to default settings, and gets rid of add-ons and custom user settings.
It doesn't erase bookmarks or saved logins. Once the refresh is done, you can reinstall your add-ons one at a time to make sure one is not breaking eBay again. I did this after months of fighting crazy problems on eBay when using Firefox, and this cured a good 95% of them. Only add-on I reinstalled was Adblock+.

I use Firefox and don't have problems on my selling account.
I agree though, the fewer add-ons, the better. I don't trust most add-ons as they are third-party applications that can allow a lot of freedom to access your information, track you, and can cause site issues.
I have two extra add-ons, other than the addblockers, that I leave disabled but turn them on for a specific site, then disable them again when finished.
