Email log in problems

Why when I go to log in on eBay does it ask me to log in with other media platforms which in turn then does not make available all my other activity such as purchases made on another email log in platform?   Can't I simply use the settings to stipulate only one email log in as it is very confusing.   Also if I log in with a different email address and make a purchase, I don't get email notifications about the purchase on my primary email account address.

If your social media account is linked to another eBay account, then signing in with that social media account will sign you in to a different eBay account than the one you normally use.

Sign in using your username and password directly to choose which account you want to use.

I only have one ebay account, that is why I can't understand why it logs me in with another social media email account details !   I did read that sometimes Google opens a new account when you log in with your email account for that platform without asking your permission which I think is unacceptable.   However, in future I will only log in with my original email  address and password and hopefully it won't happen again but it is not obvious when you first open the web site to log in, now to log in with your original email address and password.   You have to work it out yourself by clicking in the box to bring up your original email and password otherwise you are presented with 2 or 3 other platforms to log in and nothing is there to explain that this will not take you into your original account.

Suggest asking on your home board. Right now, you are posting on .com/USA. There are some differences between the two, UK and USA. I don't have my eBay connect to any social media pages so have not run into this and only have one account.

OK, didn't realise this was a USA platform, thought I was posting on the UK platform but thanks for the advice.🙂
