Ebay messages not working

Received an email that I had a message. Check messages and nothing there. Check email and verify it is legit. Go back to messages again thinking it is just delayed. Never showed up in messages. Go to Seller Hub and in the link for Listings "with Questions" there it is so I was able to respond that way but now I have no idea if they received the message answering their question. If they have email notifications turned off they may never see it.

My message does show in my "sent messages" so hopefully they get it.  Just odd that theirs went MIA.

If the sender of the message was suspended by eBay (or if the message itself was removed -- as spam, for instance),  the email version of that message would still appear in your email inbox, I believe.

They arent suspended and it is a currently active and long standing account. They were only asking if I would open up a unit and take a photo of the inside which I actually had in the listing but it was the last 5 photos of the 20 photos. Oddly the message still never showed up in my messages.

As a back up do you have your messages linked (turned on) in your personal email like gmail etc so you get a copy there? Often mail does not arrive for both buyers and sellers in eBay but you will get an alert and can access from a secondary email addy. Other things that can throw a wrench into the shooting match are filter, spam blockers or inadvertently adding something to spam when not intended to do so. I get alerts for dot com discussion posts regularly even when I have not subscribed to a feed. Another discrepancy of how dot com works when compared to dot ca.
