Ebay listing same tab setting not working, always opening new tab on all browsers

Ebay automatically opens a new tab when clicking on an item link. Is this just a bug or is there any way to stop it?

Tried on on all, different browsers both home and work and even private/non-private too. Have the customize settings set to open in same tab. This happened to me also about a year or so ago but sorted itself out . How I do not know but it did. Now the behavior is back and doesn't seem to be a "fix" for this. Very annoying and very frustrating.

Do you have any browser add-ons that may be interfering?

Change it to "new tab", APPLY, then change it back to "same tab".

If that doesn't work, clear your cache.

Thank you for helping. I have tried already with clearing  all cookies and cache. When i sign back in, it was  still the same way. It was this way for a week or two, but now working the way it used to. The open item tab in same page is working now. Tried at work and on different browsers.  Makes me think Ebay was doing something on their sign to select accounts like what Facebook does.
