Ebay adds inventory, it sells, causes problems.

Ebay adds inventory, it sells, causes problems. This may happen during relist of items with variations.

I sold an item Jan 11. Relisted on Jan 22. Got another order on Jan 29. It had 4 variations. Only 1 sold of 4. Also it was the same customer.

Are there any reports on inventory adjustments?

Thanks, Pat

It can happen to listings that have been stable for a long time and haven't been revised. It tends to happen on multiple-variation listings (it happens to me on a regular basis, about every three months or so). I am CONSTANTLY checking the inventory to catch the anomaly before the item sells because selling something you don't have really riles up buyers and they don't care if it's the seller's fault or eBay's fault, they want their stuff.

Sellers have been reporting the problem for years (it also happens with listings that are long gone, they suddenly resurface). I'm no longer optimistic about it being fixed.

I remember other reports of issues with inventory quantities getting reset when you relist an item.  I don't remember that it was ever reported as corrected.

If you use sell similar it will reset the quantity count whether you have variations or not, so you need to check.
