The above subject is what I see on any listing including my own where the description should be. Everything else on the page is normal, eBay says it's from my browser but it's eBay. I have e-mailed them 3 times about this, they responded twice the same and now are ignoring me. I know it's not my browser service because I went into Internet Options, clicked on Privacy and Security and allowed eBay as a Trusted Site. Restarted computer and it was still there. Went back in, clicked on Advanced and un-checked the security certificate box (which I know is dangerous) restarted and no change. I can go anywhere else I wish on the web and see all text as normal except for eBay descriptions. I don't want to pay for a quick-fix download or reset the entire system (deleting saved passwords etc.) especially when Windows 10 shows all updates are current and my system is working smoothly as it may or may not fix the problem. Any help will be appreciated.

Have you tried another browser to see if the content loads properly?
It might be worth checking to make sure you have the latest version of your browser, and update it if not:
https://www.whatismybrowser.com/
Also worth checking to make sure you have the latest SSL/TLS client:
Your listings load fine in my browsers (Firefox and Edge), although the following message appears at the top of your listings:
"This seller is currently away until Jan 13, 2024. If you make a purchase, there may be a delay in processing your order."

Thank you for the response. I took your advice about whatismybrowser.com
It told me at the top of the page my browser is out of date and suggested installing their software (DriverSupport) to rectify the problem. I paid $9.99 for the installation yesterday and it didn't work. This morning my Microsoft Solitaire would not connect to the cloud and I keep getting an error code which does not even exist on their FAQ page. I have been in contact with DriverSupport this AM and even had one of their teks take command of my computer to look at the problem. That was 3 hours ago and I now am waiting for a new tek to have a crack at it. Don't know what happened to the first one. Since I am waiting for a phone call with a code I am to enter to get re-started I thought I will post an update about this.

Well after your first message I would have said clear the cookies and history, then reboot but now, sorry to say I suspect you have a virus, malware or something along that line. Good luck

Driver Support is apparently an advertiser on that whatismybrowser page. It is not necessary to purchase anything to update your browser. I have no experience with Driver Support.
Did you try to update your browser directly using the link at the top of the page? Not every browser is the same, but I have had good results with some browsers that do not automatically update such as Edge, by using that whatismybrowser site.

Thanks, I will add another update when the second tek goes through it.
I thought about that as well but EVERYTHING ELSE is working just fine! It's just that one stupid message I keep seeing where the description should be. I am also experiencing other "minor" glitches with eBay, like my Seller Hub has always been my home page and now it's my Saved Searches but I contribute that to eBay going home and running the site on auto-pilot. That's why I think it's eBay and not my browser. In any case, after this second tek gets done he will at least tell me what the problem is even if he cannot fix it.

Your web browser is:
Edge 44 on Windows 10
✗ Your web browser is out of date.
Out of date web browsers can have security problems and may cause websites to not work properly.
You have version 44, why not upgrade to 81?
How to update Edge on Windows 10
This is the message at the top of the page. Only choice it gives me is the link "Start Now" owned by Driver Support One so that's what I did and that's where I'm at! Nowhere in the text does it say how I can do it myself, only where I can send them an e-mail and wait for more ads to sell me the right version that is going to fix it? I'm on that road as we speak and getting more lost as I travel it. Guess I keep waiting for the tek to call (been over an hour now)..

I do not have an old browser version to test, but I seem to recall that one of those lines you quoted should be a link to a page like this:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/edge/?form=MO12GC&OCID=MO12GC
That should allow you to upgrade from the Legacy version of Edge (44) to the latest version (81).

It looks like the webpage at https://vi.vipr.ebaydesc.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItemDescV4&item=353043285761&t=0&category=156521&s... might be having issues, or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.
I took your advice and downloaded the Microsoft Edge Update...THANK YOU! It worked somewhat on the problem except now what I copied/pasted above (with a "Hmm cloud") appears in listing descriptions!!! Got another web address because we are getting somewhere now. Oh, I got tired of waiting for that tek phone call and went in to Settings and uninstalled Driver Support also.

When I follow your vi.vipr.ebaydesc.com link this is what I see using Firefox:
" 1975 TOPPS COMIC BOOK HEROES 40 STICKERS - ONE MISSING STICKER ( IRON FIST ). Condition is VG. Please see pics for details. Ask questions. Offered as you see it, no returns. Paypal payment is due within 3 days of purchase. Shipping is based on 1 lb USPS Priority Mail. Positive feedback will be left. Please do the same for me. Please contact me if a problem exist so we can resolve the issue immediately. Thank you"
I think removing Driver Update/Driver Support is a good idea -- sorry if my link lead you down a blind alley.

Whenever I see a message like that, I look at my clock/date because if that is wrong, some certificates appear expired when they aren't. Probably not an issue with computers that fetch time of day from the cloud.

Thanks for the reply ship, we've already went through all the other possibilities but no luck. I even bypassed the security certificate allowing eBay as a Trusted Site with no result. I updated my browser to the latest Microsoft Edge and it took away the above wording but I get the "hmm cloud" now. Must have impressed eBay with my cunning etiquette! I have been a member since '03 as well and have never encountered this problem.

That is amazing you can see that and I can't. Here is what I see on the same listing
It looks like the webpage at https://vi.vipr.ebaydesc.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItemDescV4&item=353043285761&t=0&category=156521&s... might be having issues, or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.
And I go to another and get the same result, just a different scramble. I updated the browser to the latest version of Edge and I can't be the only person in the world going on eBay using Edge but apparently am the only one that has encountered this problem.
As far as the Driver Support goes I hope the $9.99 I spent can educate anyone reading this that it won't fix everything and their Customer Service leaves a lot to be desired. Now I wonder if they were able to obtain any personal information while I allowed them to take command of my computer. That's life folks.

Attackers might be trying to steal your information from vi.vipr.ebaydesc.com (for example, passwords, messages, or credit cards).
This server couldn't prove that it's vi.vipr.ebaydesc.com; its security certificate is from www.merck-animal-health.com. This may be caused by a misconfiguration or an attacker intercepting your connection.

This message came up after going to the webpage. I copied it and went back to safety immediately. What does this mean?

vi.vipr.ebaydesc.com is eBay's display of the seller's description. There is nothing in there that is private or that needs to be secure.
"Its security certificate is from www.merck-animal-health.com." That is bizarre and would not be an eBay security certificate. You'll have to pay attention to where that is attached. Sounds like that might be related to a third-party ad on the listing, but ads would be on the eBay page itself and not within the embedded description where such content would be filtered out.
"Your post has been changed because invalid HTML was found in the message body." This is a common message on these forums when text was copied from another page and pasted here. Nothing abnormal or to worry about.
