Communication Preferences Log in Loop.

Have been having this issue for a couple of years now. Have tried calling eBay but the agents either don't understand what I'm explaining or fob me off with steps to take that I have already tried. Basically, every time I have to log in, it boots me to the 'Communication Preferences' page. This is not much of an issue when I am just logging in to use the site normally but it becomes an issue when I want to use packlink for example. As packlink creates a link to third party couriers it asks you to log in to your eBay account to proceed (even if you are already logged in) so you can grant access to your account. This will then boot me the the communication preferences page so I am unable to go any further. This is also a problem when accepting seller fee discount offers or anything else that requires a log in.

I have spoken to numerous reps on the phone who have so far been zero help, if they even understand the issue to begin with. It's so frustrating.

The phone reps don't work for eBay.

Try the employees who cover the social media accounts.

They are well-trained and have some authority.

Plus, you get a transcript, so you can review what you thought you were told with what you were actually told.

What browser are you using?

Do you experience the same thing in another browser?

If not, perhaps you have inadvertently set up some sort of page forwarding rule in your browser.

It is certainly possible to create a sign-in link that once used will end up on the communications preferences page. And it is possible to make that page your My eBay home page, so that when you click on the My eBay link in the upper right of an eBay page you wind up there. But that does not sound like what you are experiencing.

If you open up a different browser, go directly to ebay.com by typing that into the browser address bar, then use the sign-in link in the upper left corner, where do you wind up when you have signed in? You should wind up back on the main ebay.com page.

Part of the issue might be location.   I've never heard of packlink, but then I'm in the US.

Not understand what it is, and using someone else's link in eBay may be what is causing you the issue.  Is there a UK board that might know more about it that may have some helpful advice?

@divwido

Good catch!

Start on ebay.co.uk rather than ebay.com, and then try signing in to see where you wind up.
