Great news!
I'm not able to pay for item in Ebay checkout when I select to pay with PayPal.
Process hangs after I write down my PP password in "Log in with Paypal" window. Annoying circle spins indefinitely, followed by message "Checking your info...".
Well, I know my passwords. I can log into either PayPal or Ebay accounts with phone apps or on PC without any problems. My PP account is verified with Ebay. Last time when used PP to make a purchase on Ebay was four days ago. No problems then.
I experience same behaviour with three different physical devices:
an Android phone with Ebay app,
Win7 PC with IExplore, Chrome, Vivaldi,
WinVista with Chrome.
Got the same result with any combination. 😞
I have sent message to PP to see what they'll say...
In the meantime, can anyone provide me with an advice, suggestion or workaround of some kind?

log into paypal first, then do what you were doing. That solved my problem. My problem started a month ago and discovered logging into paypal stopped the spinning wheel when making shipping labels, buying, and paying ebay fees.

You fix this via paypal. eBay does not control the paypal system.

I have the same problem for the last 3 days... It's EBAY.. not Paypal... evidently, Ebay can't fix it... I think it has something to do with EBAY and Paypal parting ways... just a guess... something got glitched up... maybe EBAY doesn't want you to pay by Paypal anymore.. and use your credit card instead, but why does every seller still make it clear " I ONLY ACCEPT PAYPAL.." I guess EBAY didn't notify them ... go figure ???

for anyone looking for a quick fix, because card checkout still works for paypal only, paypal offers a debt card, you can use it like a debt/credit card and that saves you from the paypal login screen ..... for paypal credit, ive been buying prepaid Visa Egift cards ( you get the card number and stuff in your email within 24 hours ) from newegg with my paypal credit, newegg is one of the few sites outside of ebay that takes PPcredit ... ... those are the work arounds im using... this has been an issue for me for a week , 8 calls to ebay, 4 calls to paypal

Hello, I have the same problem. There is nothing wrong with my PayPal account and I have plenty of credit available on that account. I've been trying to check out now for three days, my total is only $48. The wheel just keeps spinning but it says it'll connect me to PayPal.
Do you have any answers or advise on checking out with PayPal? I don't want to use a credit card because I have more than one seller I'm trying to pay.
Thanks a bunch for any advice.

4th day of not being able to check out for me.
one time I got it to work on a fresh Firefox install but not since.
Luckily I checked out for about 7 items at once.

WRONG! It is NOT a Paypal issue. The Ebay checkout is the problem. It will not even allow you to pay with a credit card on file with EBAY, NOTHING TO DO WITH PAYPAL. It is Ebay AGAIN AS USUAL that has a problem they can't figure out how to fix. Incompetence abounds at Ebay customer NON service.
