Changing Store Name on new UI doesn't update URL and previous workarounds don't work

I made a change to my store name after I initially setup.

Open any item on your listings and scroll down to the “Description” and “Shipping and Payments” tabs.

On the “Description” tab, the user is presented two frames of information.

  • Frame1 is labeled “Item Specifics” and is fine.
  • Frame 2 will be labeled with the previous store name “A”

Also in this frame are 5 links the user may select.   The first two will go to new name 'B' and the next 3 will take the user to old name "A".

This article indicates this problem surfaced with the new UI change, and there appeared to be a work around where you could opt out, fix the issue, then opt back in.   Now, I'm seeing how that works., and I don't find any options to report this bug.  (https://community.ebay.com/t5/Commonly-Asked-Questions/How-do-I-change-my-store-URL/ta-p/27794213)

(Also, if you view source, and search for where "A" is referenced, you will see a note from developer asking

"</div><!-- does this ever get executed -->"    I would like to tell them "Yes.  See repro steps above". )

If anyone has a work around for me or can help get this reported to someone who can effect a change, I would appreciate it.   Otherwise, I will continue with this, relatively minor and only slightly confusing. listings for my customers.

Examples of the links for the customers on one item:

eBay changed things a few years ago @barbies-bratz.plus so you can change your store name, but the URL remains the same. It is not possible to change the URL. eBay claims the reason they did this is for external search engine SEO.

Thank you for your response. Yes I saw; however, the store name constantly comes up as the previous name.  Thrn the URL shouldnt be used as the store name. Within the item listing then both store names are used interchangeably.  It gets confusing. Also, says, the customer can not see any info from this store name.

Thanks again for your information and response!

Hey @barbies-bratz.plus. I'm not following your last post. Can you be more specific about where you're seeing the old name vs the new name and/or post screenshots?
