Cant report items....

I have the exact same problem. I have tried with Firefox and Edge, turned off the adblocker. Tried with and without VPN. It just won't work. Someone suggested waiting a couple of minutes in case it takes time for the report categories to load. I have waited 10 minutes now.

I have reported fakes, fraud attempts and other violations before, without eBay doing anything, so I'm thinking that maybe it isn't a glitch but that eBay don't want us to report violations anymore. They make money on the scams. And it's less work for eBay if they don't have to pay people to go through the reports.

Cant report items....

@odgi

I have been able to report items using the latest version of Firefox without any difficulty for quite some time.

I had noticed a problem lately reporting items using Edge -- I was receiving an error message that indicated I needed to include a valid item number, though the item number was already included in the URL. Not long after encountering that problem, I noticed that my Edge browser was not up to date, but instead was "legacy version". I had thought that the browser would update automatically by using windows update, but it did not.

I was able to update Edge by following instructions starting here:

https://www.whatismybrowser.com/

Using the latest version of Edge (version 80), I am able to use the eBay "report item" function again. I have not noticed any empty category drop-downs, but I have seen posts indicating that others have encountered that problem. I do not know what causes that issue, but I would suggest trying yet another browser.

Whether eBay does anything with those reports is another story. In any case, a report from a single user is unlikely to result in any action -- eBay likely receives numerous reports around the clock, some of which are no doubt from competing sellers hoping to get their competition removed for some minor rule infraction, real or imagined. It seems likely that eBay uses some sort of threshold to determine whether such reports are acted upon, so a single report by itself is unlikely to cause any action on eBay's part.

Although I do not expect eBay to take action solely based on my reports, I still report hijacked accounts and what to me appear to be obviously fraudulent listings.
