I have a pair of shoes for sale. Someone put them in their cart over a week ago but didn’t purchase them. Now no one else can purchase them. I am unable to take them down since they are insomeone’s cart. What do I do?

Until they are paid for, anyone can still buy them.
Being in someones cart, doesn't make any difference.

I tried to put them in my cart and it gives me an error message. So I looked for a way to remove the listing with no luck. How do I take down the listing so I can reset it? Or maybe it is ok as is. 🤷🏼♀️

You got the 'error' because you can't attempt to buy your own items......
Being in someones cart does not restrict a future sale.
If you want to end it, just go to your Seller Hub, find the Active Listing and use the drop-down menu option to "End Listing"

You can't buy your own items.
I'd just leave it.

I don't think that's what happened, actually.
From what I can see, this item was sold Aug 11, 2024, but it doesn't appear to have been paid for. That would be why nobody else could buy it, and why you couldn't end the listing (it was already ended). If that is correct, and it hasn't been paid for, then you need to cancel the transaction with the reason "Has not been paid for".

You relisted it yesterday, so make sure you cancel it quickly to formally end the first transaction, if you haven't done so yet.

The item I relisted was returned (Chaco sandals). This is NOT the one that shows that someone has it in their cart which is a pair of Birkenstock Bali sandals.

@7holly_65, if you want to get help with this listing, you should have just given us the item number or the URL for the listing.
Yes, someone has put the Birkenstock sandals into their cart. That doesn't prevent someone else from doing the same thing, or buying them outright, and it doesn't prevent you from ending the listing if that's what you want to do. Putting an item in the shopping cart does not "reserve" the item for that buyer; only actually buying the item (and usually completing payment as well) does that.
You don't need to do anything with this listing, it is just fine. Anyone can buy it who wants it.

For example, I put them into my cart as well, and I was able to go to checkout and I could have bought them and paid for them (but I'm not in the market for these).
Those sandals have not been purchased yet, and at this point, anyone can purchase them. There have been two offers made, on Aug 18, but both offers were declined.

Thank you for all of the feedback. I did not know I could put the listing no. and get specific assistance. I did not even realize that I had 2 offers for the shoes but had set the minimum higher than the offers. I will recalibrate. I am relieved to know that others can buy or bid on the shoes even though it says they are in someone’s cart. Thank you, thank you thank you!

How do I get to the screen to see the offers on a pair of shoes? I did not realize I had offers on the Birkenstocks sandals. Can I go back to an offer and interact with the buyer?

You should be able to monitor your listings and see what offers you have received from your seller hub.

Interesting exchange. 😂 I never had any misconceptions about what "has in their cart" meant... it's just a marketing gimmick. It's meant to make potential buyers feel that little "ooh! you should buy it! lookie lookie! someone else wants it too!" kind of feeling. It's not functional/impactful to you, the seller, until they actually check-out & buy it.
Yeah, I have a little thing on my items that say "12 people have this in their cart!" as well... it's not functionally impactful to you as a seller. Just means someone clicked "add to cart" but didn't check out, so they *want it*, just not badly enough to actually buy it. haha. Nothing for you to do but smile and laugh, wait for someone else to come along and *actually* buy it.
Vastly different from a "bought but not paid" case (not sure why/how eBay still allows that to happen). In those cases, it wouldn't even show as available.
