Buy It Now, Not Buy It Now

There is a listing that I have been watching that has Buy It Now along with the listing title and thumbnail image. When I click on Buy It Now to purchase it there is no BIN option. I've never seen this before. How does that happen?

No, it's active. Getting into the listing itself there is even a banner that says:  Buy it now to make it yours! That's in addition to the "Buy It Now" that accompanies the thumbnail image.

I've been active on Ebay since 1997 and I've never seen this before.

I got in contact with the seller who explained that the auction is on hold (like, who knew, it didn't say that) and will be BIN this weekend. So it is now resolved. Just weird.

The listing can be active, but still be out of stock.

That's why there is no way to buy it.

Ya, it's out of stock.

Once they get more, they'll update the quantity and you'll be able to buy it then.

No, it's not out of stock, it's a piece that was made in the mid-20th century and is one of a kind.

Typically when a seller uses vacation settings there will be a message at the top of the listing letting you know when their Time Away settings are scheduled to expire. Did that not happen here @rubiano98?

No, it didn't happen this time. I've seen that banner frequently over the years but it wasn't there in this auction. Guess the seller forgot to use the vacation setting.
