Bidding for an Auction not allowed ? Why ?

I opened my eBay account yesterday and immediately I wanted to bid for an auction and I wasUsing a tool to put my bid but it failed to do so and it gave me the reason “That access level upgrade required” what does this mean ? why was my bid not allowed? Can someone please tell me about it why was my auction did not allowed?

You say that you were using a tool to put your bid in...what kind of tool?  All you should need to do is put the dollar amount into the space/box where it says to...

You do not need a tool to place a bid.  I have heard of people who use sniping programs to place bids with and if you are using such a program, maybe there is an issue with the program.

I can think of at least 3 issues that may be causing it, but I would be wasting your time... you really need to email eBay with the issues before posting.  Sadly, the only way to contact eBay at this time.  Surprisingly they do get back with you. I don't think I waited more than 18 hrs for a response.  Just make sure you get a response email with a SR#.  Those are slow to arrive (1-2 hours).  If you don't, resend again, with a little bit more rudeness, like "Second submission, no response...".  etc.

Sadly again, I believe they are running on a manual support system, since they don't have a proper support portal where issues are opened, supported, reported and closed.  That said, depending on the difficulty, expect some back and forth emailing in resolving the issue.

BTW, I'm a US based seller and contact them often.  Not every issue is resolved, but we get more distance this way than looking for answers here.

Click The link "Help & Contact", top left corner from the eBay homepage.  Scroll all the way down to the bottom, click on the link where it says "email us" > click "Buying"  > click "How bidding works" > click "Email Us" on the left of the screen. eMail screen displays.
