Message Subject: Beta testing for lists. Hate. Hate. Hate. Hate.
Dear [Beleaguered Staff Member],
I am a regular eBay shopper, and recently read and responded to your comment in the Community help section regarding the beta testing doing away with the lists. I think the subject line makes it fairly clear how I feel about this, but I wanted to follow up with you directly as well, as you specifically referenced user experience as a component of whether or not this will continue.
Using lists is HOW I use eBay, and also WHY I use eBay. Without the ability to create and organize lists in an easy-to-read format, the utility of eBay is completely lost for me. The Watch list simply isn't sufficient for my needs (even when it does work, which it isn't right now, incidentally). With the Watch list alone, I lose the ability to organize, and I hate getting constant alerts on items I can't purchase in the immediate future (particularly since I have quite a lot of items I am keeping track of for various reasons). I will NEVER use Collections, as they simply don't serve the same purpose, and I'm not interested in promoting items to other people so they can be sold out from under me before I have the chance to save up and purchase for myself.
I have been using eBay for 15 years now, and this is honestly one of the most frustrating problems I have ever experienced with the site. The interface for my lists makes it easy for me to have a visual and pricepoint reference for the items I am able to buy - if I am going to have to keep track of a ton of individual items by hand rather than through the convenience of the lists, I'm honestly not going to bother shopping on eBay anymore, and that would be a shame, because I've really enjoyed it to this point and used it often.
I just don't have time for the kind of manual organization it would require for me to make use of the site the way I need, and it's honestly been very aggravating for me that I have had to try and hunt up a solution for this, post on message boards, and plead with you as a staff member just so I can have a decent shopping experience. I don't have time for this either, and while I won't continue to complain, I also won't be shopping.
If you can please give me an indication of if or when things will get back to normal, I'd really appreciate it.
Thank you so much for any help you can give me with this.
Best,
[Exceptionally Frustrated Shopper]

If you go to Technical Issues on the discussions board - there's an Add to List not working thread going. You'll find eight pages and counting of negative reaction to this particular test. Since the number of negative responses might make a difference in getting eBay to stop this experiment - you might want to add to it.
