How does a buyer use the best offer function when I do not offer it?? Occasionally I get emails through messages with an offer on a listing which I ijust gnore. This time a buyer used the best offer function to do this even though the best offer box is NOT checked on my listing. How can he do this??

I don't have an answer, but I can tell you this: I can see that you have 184 active listings, and "Best Offer" isn't designated on any of them.

Did this person send you an offer on a current/active listing?

Did you use the Quick Listing Tool or the eBay app to list or modify any of your listings? My understanding is that those tools lack some of the options that would prevent eBay from adding "best offer" to your listings.

Use the "Advanced Listing Tool" if you do not want eBay to add "best offer" to your listings.

I don't see the "Best Offer" feature on any of the OP's active listings or any of the completed listings. Although maybe s/he removed the feature on those listings already? Maybe s/he'll come back and solve the mystery!

I've been selling here for 20 years and have never used Best Offer or any of eBay's other bright ideas. I also have never used the Quick Listing tool. When I got the Best Offer message I went back and checked a large number of my listings - not one had the best offer box checked.
