Bad Request error code

I had a buyer send me a question this morning, but when I try to respond, I get

Bad Request

Please contact your administrator with the error code: 0.67c32f17.1678984622.bc87dab

What does that mean?

I've closed all my open pages and reopened, but still getting this message.

Anyone else?

I don't know what that code means, but try changing your browser. I know my messages only work in Chrome, no longer in Firefox and they disappear on my tablet.  Try cleaning out your cache too. Either might help.

I'm using Chrome and I clear my cashe every day.

I also tried FireFox, but getting the same error message.

Maybe it's a glitch with ebay? The messaging seems to be a bit disastrous lately. Maybe someone else has a suggestion for you. Fingers crossed.

It means you're saying something eBay doesn't want you to say. Like using words like "bank account" or "transfer funds" or something that's triggering their bots.

They won't tell you that's what it is, but I got that very frequently when trying to explain to buyers I transact in US funds, certain words were setting off the bots, even though I didn't say anything that was suspicious.

nope, won't work. I tested this on different browsers and computers, and when I took out the "I bank in US dollars", the message went through fine. It seems to like to do this frequently when I'm negotiating a deal that will result in a custom listing for the buyer. It's the bots gone mad.

Is the buyer still registered? If not, you will get an error message when you try to respond.

Check the buyer's feedback page. If the buyer is still registered, try contacting the buyer directly from that page using the Contact link.

For best results, type out a short note with no numbers or special characters.

I get that message somewhat frequently @dentalsales4u, usually in the morning for some reason. It's been happening for about a year or a year and half. It's intermittent.

I found that it often happens when hitting the blue reply button the message through my email which pulls up the eBay site.

When I go directly to eBay and open the message there then hit reply the message almost always goes through. If this happens again you might try that to see if it makes a difference.

This is happening when I hit the send message button directly in the message through eBay messages.

I couldn't respond to any questions yesterday and it's still doing it today.

I've tried different browsers and still getting the same thing.

Now I have buyers who probably think I'm ignoring them.

I tried that, they are still registered, but I couldn't contact them since they are not a seller and there is no item number. I tried putting my item number in the box, but got an error when I did that.

You are correct, I dropped one small paragraph and the message when through.

All it said was the manufacture is having another price increase July 1st of $100 per unit.

I took that out and it went through.

You should be able to send a message to a non-seller using the contact link on the member's feedback page. If prompted for an item number, you should be able to use a current item number or choose "not about an item".

If you get an error message when using your item number, check to make sure the item is still listed.

The bot probably thinks you're negotiating an outside deal, that's why it wouldn't go through.

This happens to me quite a bit and I've learned to copy my messages before sending because they disappear when I try to go back and fix them. The tricky part is figuring what the bot doesn't like. If a human were reviewing it, it would be fine, I'm not saying anything wrong, but the bot doesn't like it for some reason.
