I just talked to eBay Customer Service regarding not being able to access the classic site on my cell phone. The person I talked to had me pull up eBay on Safari, hold down the Refresh button and a box came up at the bottom of the screen with the option "Request Desktop Site" (see attached screenshot) and it worked! I told him eBay should post this remedy, even if only temporarily needed. I hope this helps! This is the first time I've posted anything. 🙂
