Accepted Offer But Not showing Up anywhere

in addition to all of the other issues in the last two days...now a new one i just reported to ebay ....accepted an offer ...got the popup from the ap that i accepted but cant find the item anywhere.....no emails that i accepted the offer......not in awaiting payment...not in paid ready to be shipped....just gone...clicked on the email again to accept the offer and it then tells me that i dont have any received offers...well yeah cause i already accepted it...anyway reported 20 minutes ago...smh

This just happened to me.  How confusing...what a waste of my time looking for my item. 

I do see under "offers",  I have no offers...but on the same page, it shows  I  have an offer,  made (my buyer) a winner, and  is pending payment.   This is crazy!!!  

I rarely contact eBay, but I can't seem to contact them now...Any ideas or help?

I did manage to notify the buyer about this glitch, and that he won...but what do I expect now?   Just sit and wait?

This happens to me periodically too (like just now literally - after having 4 other offers go through with no problem today).  One buyer made me 5 offers, which I accepted.  4 came through as "waiting for payment" and the 5th one disappeared and I could not create an invoice to combine shipping for all 5 items for her.  Created quite a hassle.  Fortunately, she was understanding, but I've also had people just give up entirely like I'm trying to pull a quick one on them or something. Whatever eBay is doing here, its creating problems and losing sales. Grrr....

But does this actually commit the buyer to pay for the item within a certain time frame? Or does this just allow buyers to collect “accepted” offers and only pay for some of them

5/30/2024...Follow-up.   I messaged my buyer telling him about an eBay glitch, and I wasn't aware if he got an invoice from eBay, but I got a message he had won.  And I waited...and waited.    A couple hours later I got the red dot that my buyer paid...please ship.   So I shipped.  What a confusing application!!!

I just accepted an offer an hour ago and still it shows as active and NOT awaiting payment. What's that about? I thought if I accepted a counter offer the buyer has to pay. NO?

Happened to us at least 6 times in the last week. Sometimes the orders complete later in the day and sometimes they just disappear. Everytime this happens we have to make sure that the listing is still active or simply disappeared. Not Good.

This is how eBay has fixed the non payment problem they had. Buyers can now make offers without any obligations to pay because the item stays active. That’s why it never showed up in your sold list, you can find them in your pending offer now.  
“ eBay only considers marking a buyer for unpaid items when the item is taken down from full site visibility“
Now that eBay doesn’t take item down until they are paid for, buyers don’t get unpaid item strikes.

So this happened to me 2 times today, never had this issue previously. However, one of the items is a multi # listing. I cannot edit the item because they are pending. So how can I just cancel the sale if they are not going to pay for the item? It is super frustrating. I was so worried my account would get dinged.

eBay is doing this really stupid new thing which is extremely frustrating because you also can't message the buyer you can't report non-payment if buyer doesn't pay either. It's because eBay is doing this new thing where you accept the offer from a buyer it just stays as a pending offer but doesn't finalize anything until the item is actually paid for by the buyer. So even though you accepted the offer from a buyer the listing still stays active and doesn't show up in your selling page as as a sold item and other people can still buy the item out from under the buyer you accepted the original offer from. The other thing I don't like is that you can't message the buyer to ask about payment or to just reach out and say thanks for the offer as soon as you make payment I'll get it shipped out right away. You have to just rely on eBay 🙄 to send payment reminders or to handle the transaction until the item is paid for. Which lets face it is less than ideal because they drop the ball all the time. Then someone else can buy it out from under them and then they get upset and it hurts your potential future business with the buyer you accepted the original offer from at no fault of your own. Also if the buyer you accepted the offer from doesn't make payment like at all you can't message them and because the listing stays active it unlikely eBay is going to catch the non-payment so people most likely won't get penalized for non-payment. Which I really don't like because once people figure out there is likely no repercussion for non-payment they are going to send offers or accept offers and not care or worry about not making the payment.

Reading the post on this, if this is a new ebay  feature around payment then it is not in line with basic English law I.e. Once an offer has been accepted it becomes an agreement.

I have a new twist on this.  accepted the offer, saw it in Pending, waiting for payment. 

today:  not in sold, not pending anymore and it says the offer has expired.

Ebay needs to make this feature optional for sellers. Absolutely ridiculous.

I'll worry about the potential non-paying buyer if it comes to that, but if I as a seller or a buyer accepts an offer on an item it should be handled as sold, finalized and seen as an order. Not float in ebay space until it perhaps gets paid.

I hope other members on this board that feel the same way start complaining to ebay regarding this situation.
