Drives me crazy! My Win 7 desktop using Firefox is slow, drags, pauses, and I’ve gone crazy for some time trying to figure out what it is. Reinstalled software, tried diagnostics, System Restores--could not improve it. Finally noticed what the problem is--when I have a window open on Ebay, my CPU usage is 100% or darn close to it.
Example of how I tested it today: Opened it up to an Ebay results page, which is my Home page for FF when I open a new window, then went away for 30 mins or so. Come back to check my CPU usage and it’s at 100%! Keeping the window open but changing page from Ebay to earthlink webmail, CPU usage dropped to 0 or a few points above!
Yes, here and there I have deleted Ebay cookies for one reason or another but that never made a difference.
Lately have stopped having any Ebay windows open on my software and computer operates MUCH better!
WHAT IS IT WITH EBAY?????????? Anyone know?

What version of Firefox are you using?
Are you using an ad blocker?
Do you have similar issues using other browsers, or just Firefox?

Seems only to do this on FF. Chrome doesn't give me the same CPU issue. It's not the newest version but no problems w/other sites. Just ebay. I have a disabled ad blocker on FF. No ad blocker on Chrome

It might be worth tying to upgrade to a newer version of Firefox if you are not using that particular version for a reason, to see if that makes any difference.
In some cases an ad blocker or a script blocker might help with such an issue, if an ad or script is taking up lots of resources.
I have run into similar issues in the past, but not lately.

Lots of things do not work with windows 7 or xp. Time to upgrade. My used laptop with windows 10 cost less than 100 and now ebay glitches are gone and its fast. I wish I had not waited so long but I was cheap and was using a old Dell laptop I paid two bucks for at the neighborhood thrift store. Using it right now because I am waiting on a external floppy drive that is compatible with my new Dell laptop with windows 10 because I still use a Sony camera from 1998. IMO a new computer will helps things with ebay greatly. Cheers

But productivity with Windows > 7 is impossible. Windows 7 is bad enough, it's difficult to be as productive with it as with XP.

I am using the latest FF, and while I don't see the CPU problem you have, I have noticed in the last week or so everything ebay, especially the discussion boards are loading very slowly. Figured it was just ebay, as this has happened in the past, and then seems to eventually get better again.
