Potties,a little help with ceramic horse heads?

Hi all. Picked these up thinking Italian mcm,but cant find any matches on google. They are 9x4,and unmarked. Are they Chinese modern or Italian and older ? Any input is appreciated.

Ideas. My first impression when I saw it, it's a zebra with closely spaced stripes. Mention it because it may help to widen your search. Both horses and zebras are equine. Lastly gotta love those ears borrowed from Spock.

Only found one other on etsy, being marketed as every dang keyword in the book--horse head chess piece bust knight statue bookend--no info as to origin.
