Please help identify this Japanese or Chinese pottery vase.

I have a nice little studio vase marked in Japanese or Chinese that I am trying to identify or at least find out what the marks on the bottom say.  This is about 5 1/2" tall and 5 1/4" in diameter . The bottom is marked by hand in an Asian script. This looks like it was made from a brown clay, is well proportioned with a beautiful multi-colored glaze. Please help. Thank you in advance for any information you can provide.
