Did you mean:

Mysterious French Bee

I can usually track down figurine marks but this one has me stumped. It looks French like a Forster and the mark’s partial spelling fits but I don’t see where they ever used a bee mark. I doubt it’s Limoges. Any wisdom out there would be greatly appreciated. Thanks much!  Cynthia

Re: Mysterious French Bee

One of the marks used by the business of Alexander Förster a.k.a. Förster & Co. (1899 - 1906) from Vienna, Austria. And it is not a bee but a stylized open-wing stag beetle, the registered trademark of Förster.

Re: Mysterious French Bee

Thanks very much, Chris!

I didn’t think it looked exactly like a bee. Do you have any idea/links showing the mark or the figurine? I’ll need to figure out a fair eBay price. I love German porcelain and this is my first Forster. Very exciting! Now I’m not sure I want to sell it.

My Best,

Cynthia
