I bought a beautiful china made in Japan with a N as a backmark set thinking it was a Noritake, but now I don't know who the maker is? If anyone has any ideas I'd be very grateful.

Better photos than thumbnails are needed. Did you try searching Nippon marks?

Yes I've googled both Nippon and Noritake backmarks but I've come to the conclusions it must be another Japanese pottery maker. Been looking on and off now for a year.

definitely not noritake or a nippon mark. the style of the mark suggests a fake mark from hong kong or china. anyway, it is not identifiable as a maker or importer/exporter

Thanks MD1919 that's kind of what I was thinking.

I thought I'd add a photo of the sugar bowl as a description of the pattern.

Very pretty. Looks too good to be a newer repro, maybe one of the earlier ones.
