Hello
I just wondering if anyone else has seen there sales drop significantly since we were forced to go through the managed payments system. The past few months sales have drop over 46% for me . I hate the new system as a seller but are buyers have problems with it also and have decided not to buy on ebay anymore. I'm sure the economy is playing an issue but at the start and middle of the pandemic I had no drop in sales. I wonder if people have had the same problem with slow sales.

Waiting for Ebay to eliminate this new system. After they rethought this was stupid they will change back.

I sell in a niche market, so I am a low volume seller, selling "wants" and not "needs".
Since MP accepts MORE ways to pay, I would think sales should increase.

The buyer pays the same way by hitting the pay button so whether they buy from a seller that's in managed payments or not shouldn't matter. Some buyers may not know the difference. I believe buyers don't care who is taking their payment. I think sales are off because unemployment is high due to shut downs and a lot of people are struggling to make ends meet so they've cut out unnecessary purchases. In the US the rich get richer and the poor get poorer.

I saw a major drop in sales after i was "invited" to join MP and my sales remained low until I relented and signed up for the MP program. My sales did pick up just afterwards, but no where near as strong as they were before which prompted me to move a significant number of items off site.

They will not be "moving back". It is all about capturing the fees for payment processing and the float.

The previous PayPal only method used by eBay supported PP, Credit cards, and direct bank payments (funding source decided by the buyer). That was all transparent to us sellers on eBay as the payment simply was via PayPal. The inclusion of applepay, googlepay, and other various wateverwallet type systems that MP will work with is fluff to me. In all my years of doing business, I have never once had a request to use those types of payment apps, so I am doubtful that it will have any measurable impact on sales.

@toyzmastr After they rethought this was stupid they will change back.
There's nothing to go back from/to:
PayPal CEO Dan Schulman told Wall Street analysts last week why he chose not to extend the existing Operating Agreement (OA) with eBay, but instead, enter into an additional agreement that extends into 2023: PayPal will be able to officially court other marketplaces beginning in 2020.
PS. My sales tanked on Sept 1 like clockwork because the Federal $600 went bye bye on 8/31. I went on MP 9/22; sales have increased 4x since 9/22. I sell 'wants' not 'needs'. Not that MP joining had anything to do with sales increase, but.....

These payment systems are mobile apps, which are fast growing, and it's crazy not to include them in a payment system because the future is here. I wish we could use Square and Stripe here, as well, as I actually know more people who don't use Paypal than do, even though I quite liked Paypal and found it handy.

My sales have been horrible with eBay Managed Payments. I even remember as a Buyer when i was forced to use my Credit card instead of Paypal i would Click on the x Button and not make the purchase.

Another valid reason - many sellers were also buyers, since they are unable to list/sell under MP they are not making money and are not buying.
Myself for example - I spent on Ebay what I made on Ebay. Not anymore and I can no longer list due to MP ban.
This would be huge reduction in sales, 4 million sellers planned in MP only about 400k signed up but many are also on verge of quitting.
80% plus reduction im sellers should boost business for the few remaining but selection and good buys are down so buyers are moving on elsewhere.
MP forces sellers to ship late, buyers have to wait 10-14 days for the goods, Amazon delivers next day.
Im out until PayPal and old terms are back, 2 accounts.

We had 2.5k of sales 3rd - 8th March when we were switched to MP but now down 80 - 90%

Although I realize that sellers who are on Managed Payments are seeing very significant differences in how they receive their funds, to the best of my knowledge, there is no difference at all for buyers.
Have recently made purchases from more than one seller who has been switched to MP, and the payment process is no different.

Same here - the only difference for the buyer is more methods to pay. More methods to pay is, at least in my world, better than fewer.
