Bought a heated birdbath from "***". The marketing picture showed it had a pedestal. The seem to have resold the item available from ***. They charged about $90 more for it than I would have paid if bought directly from ****. There seems to be no way I can contact *** and I can't seem to get to them via Ebay. The item was more than $100 less from certain other outlets. I feel robbed by ***

You were not robbed - They never put a gun to your head and made you buy from them.
Consider it a life lesson - do your research before buying, not after.

So why did you buy the item if it was 'overpriced'?
This was your decision so now it's the seller's fault?
A lot of items are overpriced you are not required to purchase anything except absolute essentials (ie food /utilities)

Prices vary as the crow flies. It's up to buyers to compare prices in many different selling venues to insure the best value for their money. Many buyers do check prices but, only after they make a purchase.

The marketing picture showed it had a pedestal.
This is printed right there in the listing. >> "MOUNTING HARDWARE INCLUDED - The bird bath mounts to any deck railing or your own pole or pedestal (not included)."
I'm sorry you are disappointed, but it sounds like you got what you paid too much for. 😑

You were robbed by your own self. A seller can buy virtually anything from any website and flip it here and charge whatever. If you did NOT do your research before, that is your fault. Take it as a pricey lesson. Next time that you see something that you like, go to google and see where else it's available for less. You can also do a search on ebay too. If you do NOT know how to do a search on ebay, start a new post. Do NOT buy anything here until you know what you are doing.

Also LEARN to read carefully. DO NOT assume that everything in the photo is included. Read carefully. If you are not sure, ask questions. Wait until the seller answers the questions before you buy. If they do not answer your questions, then do NOT buy it. Always know what you are buying before you click the bid/ buy button.

Thx. All true. Found it impossible to get through to ccm. Trying to get their attention this way. 1st time I ever had this happen in many years. No need to scold me.

The seller is dropshipping from other retail sites which is not allowed.
They never see the items they are selling and they use stock photos and descriptions from the sites they are dropshipping from.
Yes, they do charge more then what you can buy the item for at their retail sites, that's how the seller makes their money.

I think that @ms.rodriguez* was speaking to the OP, @do-82212... but did this happen to you, too? 🤔

You could open a case as changed mind. You will have to return the item on your dime in its original packaging. Seems kinda useless if the pedestal isn't included, isn't that the electrical warming part?

I am writing to the poster. Everyone should always do research before buying. It's a valuable lesson.

Thx for the suggestion. Had an old pedestal I was able to use. Heating element in the bowl. All assembled and working. Not worth returning. Just have to accept I overpaid.
Thank you for helping out.

That's awesome that you were able to take the advice of people here and move on emotionally. That's the best way to stay sane in this world.
Glad you found a pedestal. The birds are going to LOVE THAT.
