I got a message from eBay saying to update my account details.
"It’s now simpler to get paid on eBay
Getting paid has changed: Fees and expenses will be deducted before you get paid out and the remainder of your earnings will go directly to your bank account, not your PayPal account. Get set up in a few easy steps."
I primarily just tend to leave all the money I receive in my PayPal, so I wanted to ask for clarification: does this mean sellers can no longer use PayPal as a means of payment? We have to store the money in a bank account now?
I also saw something saying eBay raised their fees. Is that also true?
Thanks for clarifying.

Why would it be any different if the seller's PayPal account was empty? Good bye to you too.

Adios Ebay. It was a good run but this is not acceptable.

This really sucks. I have no bank accounts and always received my payments thru pay-pal. I WILL NO LONGER BE SELLING ANYTHING ON E-BAY. Great job e-bay

Why not just open a bank account and continue to earn money selling on Ebay.

Do sellers know that buyers cant buy their stuff unless they do something only a careless person would do (link their bank account to ebay) Something doesn't smell right. Does this have anything to do with the second inclosure/global grab thats going on?

WHAT? @nmiiji you are completely misinformed. I don't know where you got this information, but it is wrong. Buyers are NOT affected by the sellers changing to MP as their payment processor. Well except that they gain two new accepted payment methods on Ebay, Google Pay and Apple Pay. And buyer can still use PP.
Buyers do NOT have to link a bank account to Ebay. ONLY sellers do.

I'm exclusively a buyer, and every time I (try to) chek out now, whenever I try to select paypal, it totally stops working and wont let me check out any further. The app l;iterally freezes and I have to go back to the beginning of my browsing session. I wonder what they would do if I win an auction. Because the only way I want to (or can) pay (I refuse to set up any new credit cards, or bank accounts) is paypal.
The same way I have been for 15 years. (I've never sold anything on ebay.)
Frankly, I'd go nuts if I depended on an income from them - the arbitrary way they treat their customer.
I went trying to find some customer service email or method, and I was not able to find one. So I chalked it up to my anti-tracking browser extensions (which I refuse to give up for them or anybody) and just canned all the purchases in my shopping cart.

That is not an issue with MP but with PP. You need to address this problem with PP.

How can one tell where one ends and the other begins?

I'm unsure of your statement. NOTHING for buyers have changed. Absolutely nothing. If any buyer is having an issues submitting a payment via PP, then they need to contact PP and find out why.

Oh... this is all about the IRS. The IRS wants info on all your sales to makes sure you are not cheating on your taxes. Ebay will helpfully mail a 1099 to the IRS about all of your sales income. How thoughtful. What a great service.
