eBay invoice

I am going to buy a car from a seller. The seller sent me a payment notice through eBay. The payment currency is in Bitcoin. Is there any security risk in this transaction?

@yinjiche-2   SCAM!!!

They usually ask for payment in ebay gift cards or other cards... this is the first bitcoin scam attempt that I have seen.

Ebay gift cards are only used to pay for items on ebay and you enter the numbers at checkout. Sellers NEVER ask for the card number. Or if they ask you to pay in another non-refundable method such as wire transfer ( or bitcoin)  it's still a SCAM

Ebay has nothing to do with sales on other sites. Report the listing to the site you found it on.

Pay for cars or other large items in person so that you know that it's in the condition that the seller stated. If the item has a title be sure to get it when you pay.

It is most likely a scam. eBay does not handle payments for items bought off eBay. If it is something you found on eBay Motors then it may be legit, but I'm not sure that Bitcoin is an acceptable form of payment. Hopefully, someone that knows for sure will come along soon.

@yinjiche-2

It's a scam

Ebay doesn't accept Bitcoin and they don't handle payments for vehicles found on other sites.

Have a great day.

Thank you for your answer, I also think it is a scam. so I ask to make the trade on eBay, and I will pay in the shopping cart, but the seller refused, which makes me believe this is just a scam.

@yinjiche-2   You're welcome... Keep in mind that even for cars that you buy on eBay you ONLY make a deposit of $500 and then pay for the vehicle in person after you inspect it.

Sometimes the deposit is not refundable so read the sellers listing carefully.

Some sellers do not charge a deposit fee.

You would start your search on eBay here>

eBay has LIMITED coverage under the Vehicle Protection Program. This is why the buyer MUST always go see the car in person and make sure that it's as described.  Payment is usually made in cash or a bank transfer.

The ebay money back guarantee does not cover vehicles.
