I have received three eBay messages about signing up for managed payments.
The first message said deadline was February 14
The second messages said deadline was February 28
The third message said deadline was February 14
Is there some type of technical issue with signing up for managed payments? Why are the dates changing back and forth?
I would feel more confident in signing up, if I was sure the system was operational. I am concerned I will get another eBay msg with a later date because of some current managed payment issue.
My account is over 20 years old, would that cause an issue with switching to managed payments?

Oh I just got another message today.
The fourth message says deadline is now February 11

Makes me feel real confident that eBay is going to be handling all my money. I'd figure it means tomorrow. That way you'll at least have couple days when registration fails.

I do have some concerns about registration failing. I have been updating my eBay account but I can’t find the birthdate field, so not sure what eBay has as my birthday. And I am unsure if my social security name has to match my bank account name. They do not match so not sure if that will be an issue.

Your eBay name and address needs to match your bank account name and address. They will ask for your birth date and SSN during the MP setup process. Not sure what happens if those numbers don't match reality.

Thanks for the response. There is no birthdate field in my account - personal info. My account is over 20 years old. I don’t recall ever giving eBay my birthdate, but I might have back 20 years ago, just don’t know where they put it. 😀

Dec 2001 here. It’s in my account, but they have different screens that people see.

Thanks for the tips. Does eBay have an infographic on the actual managed payment sign up process? All I could find is one on how it works after enrollment.

it is the oddest thing....where else could that date field be located?

The last thing for me is personal info. Maybe yours won’t show date of birth until after you sign up. It also has SS # listed. Which you need to enter when you sign up for MP.
I don’t know when I gave my birth date other then when I signed up for MP, but I never checked before to see if it was correct.

Thanks for the link. I found another link there that says I need to contact eBay to update my birthdate. Maybe really old accounts have some type of issue. Though I can’t imagine why they wouldn’t allow the front end to display and allow editing of birthdate field to update the back end tables.

Now I think about it, someone did say that had 1/1/1900 or something like that listed on their account. I don’t know if that was when they called, that they figured it out or was visible. Good luck!
