difficulty redeeming credit card rewards on paypal

Credit card rewards do not show up on the PayPal checkout site anymore when selecting "pay with PayPal" when paying on ebay. Is this happening with anybody else?

We can always go on the credit card site and use your points for a statement credit.  Not as easy but pretty much the same.

It is not the same, it is less in value so you would loose $$ if you user your points for statement credit.

Yes, Hp2...  This began with my Capital One Rewards card as well since April of 2024.  It unexpectedly stopped showing the “use your rewards” on my on line Ebay purchases.  I have called Capital One, the PayPal Site & Ebay (which directs me back to PayPal.)  I have had three way conversations with each of them to no avail.  The only way that I can redeem my rewards is back to my Capital One statement that I receive once a month.  Everyone says that I am signed up correctly.  Now, they are saying some merchants don’t accept the rewards... That can’t be true.  It’s my rewards converted to $$$ and when I use them, the merchant should receive the full amount of the transaction.  Around and around it goes... over 6 or 7 times - each time ending in failure.

My wells fargo reward points show up in Paypal as available but not when purchasing via paypal from Ebay.  Ebay always seem to screw with us.

Thank you for this thread. I have had the same issue and will probably just stop using ebay a lot because that was what drove my purchases to ebay.

It has happened to me. Earlier I had used PayPal and sent my rewards to them. That does not work now. I think I must no longer go though PayPal as I had done, but stick to My Capital One Card.

Same problem for me, for over a year now. In the distant past I was able to see Capital One rewards as an option for paying ebay through PayPal, and successfully used it. Then maybe a year ago the option completely disappeared. Now I can see it again and even select it. It will show me the total $ to be used to pay for an item. But then hitting the pay button results in the spinning wheel of death and the screen resets to the original checkout page, item unpaid. I have tried everything, numerous browsers and devices, nothing works. I have no problem using my rewards miles on other sites, such as Amazon. eBay is turning into a dumpster fire.
