Won a bid

I won a bid and I'm ready to fulfill payment. But i have some gift cards i want to use, but I'm scared if i press "Pay now" it'll immediately charge me without letting me add gift cards. Can anyone tell me what happens when i press "Pay now" thank you

Make sure you are logged in eBay. Go to check out.  Enter the redemption code at the bottom of the page. Submit.

I don't have a way to double check what clicking "Pay now" does, but, as I recall, it simply takes you to your cart for checkout. eBay has to know how you're going to pay and where you want the item shipped, etc., so it's not "automatically" going to charge you. It will take you to a checkout screen first.

If you're not comfortable doing that, you don't have to click on that "Pay now" message. The item you won should already be in your cart. You can "x" out of that message and/or click directly on your cart instead of clicking on the message, and you'll be given an opportunity to enter your gift card info for payment.

Believe me, I get that it's kind of scary the first time you go to pay for something on a site. They all seem to work differently--will it check me out from PayPal, or will it take me back to the site, or will it . . . whatever.
