I was forced to use paypal no big deal but why would you want to continue to sell on this ripoff platform from buyers?

Just a guess - to make money?

The main reason I sell here is to get rid of stuff and make a little extra money.
You'll find bad buyers everywhere, not just Ebay.

I just joined MP and although everything's great so far, I'll miss my old friend Paypal, both for buying and selling.

TBH, after a few months on MP I forgot all about Paypal. I only use it now as a payment portal when I shop - I don't even really keep much of a balance - mostly just a miscellaneous amount of money when friends reimbursement for incidentals like dinner at the pub or a race entry.

PP remains available for buyers. That is not changing.

I remember the bad old days of personal cheques that bounced, domestic money orders sent to an international seller, shortchanged cash, and phoney "money order in the mail, ship now" emails, and was delighted when eBay's first payment processor came along.
Then after some discomfort being even happier with Paypal which I could use to buy on other platforms.
I'm holding out on Managed Payments because:
As a Canadian seller on dotCOM, with PP I can attach multiple bank accounts because; reasons, and add an American bank account for my USD transactions.
I'm reasonably sure that eBay will correct these problems by the time MP becomes mandatory for all sellers. Until then I'm trying to remember what were the problems with Billpoint that led to eBay abandoning it.

I'm holding out on Managed Payments because:
- They did not (and still don't) make all the bells and whistles clear until the seller signs up
- We can only attach one bank account
- The attached bank account must be in our own country
- All sales must be paid in our own currency.
- I can't use my customers' payments to buy on eBay or anywhere else.

If memory serves, they decided to purchase Paypal because it had more features and flexibility, and Billpoint then became redundant.

I have to problem switching to MP I have until 12/31, I've been reading to many sellers losing their money and the item for all different kind of reasons without being able to fight back with proof. I guess the old saying the buyer is always right.
Be safe and be happy

I think you are misreading that email. You might want to look at it closer. I don't think it says that you have that much time.

What do you mean? Everywhere - messages, seller hub, myeBay, etc - eBay says we have to enroll in managed payments by 12/31. I am not going to do it until the last possible second. If you know something different, please share the specifics.

When you are invited (forced) is the time to sign up. It takes care of problem that could interrupt sales if you do not.
Do not wait for the last second.

Apparently I was mistaken. It appears that MP is sending out multiple versions of this email. One that is giving sellers until the 31st and others that are not. Sorry for the confusion, it was completely my fault.

It would not matter at all which payment processor was involved with this. With PP they can do the same stuff. There is absolutely no diference except MP will notify you right there on your account, chargebacks on PP are back door.
