This subject is all over Reddit. Why doesn't Ebay fix this? I have a debit card verified and on my Ebay account for payments to sellers. I also have PayPal on my Ebay account for selling and buying. I only have 1 debit card with Visa and my Paypal is linked to the same debit card and bank account. Both work just fine.... UNTIL I have to process a return. It says my refund payment did not go through. It says to add another payment method. I try in vane multiple time to add my debit card (AGAIN - because it's already on my account. Each time I get the error message (see subjet of this post). I spent hours on the phone with an Ebay Customa Service person who couldn't figure it out and had not ever heard of this... I confirmed with my bank that theis no problem. And, yes, there are funds in my account. 

This is so stressful that after 8 years selling on Ebay I am ready to throw in the towel. Ebay does not make things easy to do... Simple things like processing a retum. I lost 5 hrs. to this in February. This post is my last attempt to su il anyone has a similar issue and hopefully a solution. Does Ebay even read these conversations?

Is your bank account set up for paying Selling Costs? If not, that's where the problem is. 
Paypal is no longer used for selling. You maybe able to purchase shipping labels but that's it.

Your banking routing number(checking account) is the same as your debit card...are you using the same debit card connected to your checking account with the routing number?

I have 5 credit cards on file...but the debit card has to match the banking account routing number(checking account)...for me anyway.

Yes, as @ebooksdiva posts, for Selling matters, it's got to be your checking account number, not your debit card number. 🙌

It could be your bank blocking it.

Every time I get a new debit card I have to call the bank and have a couple web sites unblocked before the sites are able to verify the card and Ebay is one of them.
