I just received the message "We couldn't complete your previous payout and credited the amount back to your available funds." Apparently the bank account that I've used for years is no longer valid for payouts? Im a bit confused and worried because its the only account I have to bank with. Im being told to add another bank account. Is this a bug or what is going on here? If a reason was provided as to why it is no longer valid would be more professional but now I have to ask the community for help. What would cause a sudden invalid bank account for payouts?

@ericodapro wrote:If ebay doesnt know the reason then that would be alarming for sure, the problem isnt with my bank since it has worked without a hitch for years and I am still able to purchase items with it as well.
This issue has not fixed itself and now I need to take this to the next level. What would be my next move? Talk to a rep? I havent done this before and not sure how to go about it.
It could be with the bank. They may have changed something that isn't allowing ebay electronic deposits.
I'd call the bank on Monday.

You need to think of the buying side and selling side as 2 different entities under the same umbrella. Just because you can buy using BoA as a payment source does not mean you can use that same bank to receive payments.
The next level would be to contact your bank as albertabrightalberta suggested, this might not be an eBay issue, it might be a bank issue which eBay would not be able to help.

I think its an ebay issue with the sudden flood of payment hold problems on the forum. I talked to my bank and as predicted there wasnt any issue the bank could see. Going off of past issues with payments and holds its safe to say 9 out of 10 times its an ebay glitch since they are constantly changing T&C. As far as your last comment that "ebay would not be able to help" .... Do they ever step in and help? I mean the fact that they have this forum (that uses other members to answer members questions and not actual ebay representatives) speaks volumes about their customer service.

My gripe now is just the way ebay handled my issue. If there was a problem with my receiving payouts they should provide a CLEAR explanation what the problem is so we can resolve it quickly. That would be an example of ebay being helpful. By just telling me my payout couldn't be completed.... is not helpful at all.

like I said, they might not know what the problem was.
Could have been a bad Internet connection on either side?
The bank system might of had a glitch when the payment tried to go through?
Someone pushed the wrong button either at Ebay or your bank?
There could be a lot of reasons it didn't go through.

Ken lets look at all the possible reasons it could be and stop with the guessing shall we?
This is when chatgpt is really helpful. I will post the convo:
If you're experiencing an issue with eBay sending you a payout, there are a few potential reasons behind it. Here are some common issues that could prevent a payout from being sent:
Would you like to dive into any of these issues in more detail?
I didn't see anything there saying my bank could be the issue and I confirmed it by talking to my bank earlier.

Yes, eBay accepts Bank of America accounts for sellers who are part of eBay Managed Payments. As long as your Bank of America account is linked to your eBay account and is eligible to receive payouts, there should be no issue with using it for selling on eBay.
If you're having issues with linking or receiving payouts to your Bank of America account, you may want to verify that your bank account details are correct and up-to-date in your eBay seller account.
If you need help with the linking process or run into any issues, let me know!

No not all BofA's will accept eBay managed payouts. That has been gone over in the past. Some BofA's are associated with the investment side, those usually are in the South and can't be used. While you pull up a lot of information that can be found, nothing so far indicates you have contacted your bank to see if the issue is at their end. Maybe something has changed at the banks end.
Here is a link to some of the posts about not being able to use Bank of America.
