Up to 4 days to wait for payments

This is confusing. Ebays direct deposit can take up to 4 business days.

So do I wait up to 4 business days for payment before sending out an item. I am not sending anything till I get paid. It only makes sense. Ebay may give some story that the money is secure, but to me its secure when I have it. Would rather have Pay Pal than this. Payment was instant. 

I see problems ahead.

You have been paid, if eBay notifies you. That means that they have received the buyer's payment and it's time to ship. You can use the pending funds to pay for your shipping on-line; see the payment funding source choice at the bottom left corner of your Shipping label form.

To be clear, the funds are not "pending;" it's the transfer to your bank that is pending, but you do not need to wait for that to happen before shipping. (If you do, you will have a series of honked-off buyers who don't see why they should have to wait that long when they paid immediately.)

PayPal fronted the money even when it hadn't cleared their account yet. eBay sends the money after it clears (actually, I think they recently changed it to within 2 days as long as you're not subject to holds), then it hits your bank after your bank clears the transfer. My bank clears the transfer in 2 days on average.

If you don't want to ship until the money is in your bank then you need to extend the handling time on your listings. Anything sold before you extend your handling time still needs to be shipped within your handling time. The clock starts when eBay says the item was paid for. Check your orders page, it will show you the ship by date.

Is it different in CA?  I do not see Apple Pay/Google Pay on your listings?

Managed Payments has been evolving for years.

Problems have for the most part been ironed out.

Problems now are mostly self induced by those sellers that do not understand how MP works.

I have been in MP for over 21 months. To this point my money has been "secure".

With hundreds of items shipped within my handling time once eBay "confirmed" the buyer payment I have never had a payment fail to reach my CU checking account. (knock on wood)
