Trading one item for another? No, you can't do that on eBay.

You auction or sell items here. No trading.

You make trades using currency as a medium.
Generally speaking, it boils down to this:
Person A trades an item for $ from person B, then uses the $ to trade for something else.
Basic capitalism, with the caveat that eBay gets a slice of every transaction.

Yes, but....
I have traded through Ebay and on other platforms before. Its a little more complicated than a typical trade because you will need to purchase the item from the seller, while having them purchase the trade item from you. Technically its not a "Trade" because you both are making separate purchases which can get complicated if there are any problems/returns.

That is if you take communications/deal off of the Ebay site.
If you both parties (buyers/sellers) purchase and buy/sell (via Ebay), this can work. All communications/sales must be through Ebay.
As stated, it is more complicated because of returns/refunds.
I had a buyer offer me a lower price on an item i was selling. It was lower than i would of taken but after communicating back/forth while viewing their listings they had up, i suggested a mutual buy/sell. TRADE
Because i offered this (not the buyer) and the buyer had items listed (already had listings and good feedback), i felt like the risk was lower. Looking at the feedback they had and left was also something i looked into.
It is not for everyone and as stated and everyone should understand the risk before accepting the deal.
Proceed with care-
