I have a banking account registered on my account. I am issuing a refund but the fee on that refund is not taken from that account. Instead, it asks to add another payment method. Is that right?

Thanks

eBay is looking for the $.30 Transaction Fee. If there's not enough in your Processing funds, they'll be looking for a payment method for those.

odd how that works one way for some, and different for others.

I have seen several post like the one from this OP

some months back I had a buyer request to cancel.

Only sale going at the time.

The buyer was refunded from the money that they paid.

$0.30 was debited from my checking account.

Why you need a valid payment method

If you don't have a valid payment method set up for selling costs, your selling activity could be affected, or we may need to charge outstanding costs to your linked payout bank account.

Yes, you need to add a credit/debit card to cover the refund and fee's not covered by the avaliable funds.

If they can't get the funds from there, they'll pull the funds from your checking account.

It's not just the $.30 fee, sometimes the seller has to cover the full refund, until the buyers payment is released.
