Set Up Automatic Payment Method

A task showed up on my Seller Hub saying that I needed to set up an automatic payment method for my seller fees. I've entered the information twice now and the task reminder goes away briefly and then reappears.

My eBay> Account says that Auto Payment Method is listed under Seller Account but that section is blank other that the option to make a one-time payment. The automatic payment method I had previously (PayPal) doesn't even show.

Anyone have a clue what's going on? Glitch?

@vintage-car-magazines In doing a little digging I found this is a reported tech issue and I've added your account to the report. You shouldn't need to re-enter this information again.

Set Up Automatic Payment Method

New eBay plan to collect any payments (fees due) from the "checking account" provided for funds deposits/debits????

Just a guess.

If that is it, then likely only the "checking account" would be accepted (stick after being applied) as an "update" for the auto payment.

Sellers are being "phased" in.

I would tend to agree with @buyselljack2016  that this is part of the process doing away with invoicing fees.  Let's be sure and ask payments_team@ebay to look at the OP and advise.

No invoicing for any fees owed to ebay seems the next most logical step (to me at least)

Cash on the barrelhead...Everyone!!

I wonder how long paying shipping fees via PP will last?

@magsmg101

I wonder how long it'll be before a payment will move to 'Processing' at all until the item is shipped.

@magsmg101  - we're already well on that road.  For the newest group of enrollees to Managed Payments, ad fees & store subscription fees are already being "netted" from Managed Payments funds.

Those of us who were enrolled previously will be getting the same treatment "soon".

My ?… If you use PP to pay shipping costs AND you use a points card to do so… who pays the transaction fee?

I really liked using that points card for invoices. slight_smile

Thank you, will check that thread.

Set Up Automatic Payment Method

Thanks but that's not my question.

For years I've had my fees set up to auto pay from PayPal. Since I entered MP, I got a new "task" to set up an auto pay method. I assume it's part of the change to MP.

The problem I'm running into is that I've set it up twice already and it doesn't "stick". The "task" message keeps coming back and if I look at the section of My eBay that's supposed to have my Automatic Payment Method....it's empty. It doesn't even have my previous method that was set up before MP.

check here this is the link to the old accounts page I checked mine and PayPal is still set. The payments tab on the seller hub has a option for a 1 time payment but I could not find a auto pay link on the hub.

Yes, I have wondered this myself.  I do exactly as you do get the points on my credit card.  We are going to just have to wait and see since eBay is following their normal path of little to no communication on this subject.

For shipping labels most manage payment sellers use the option on the purchase label page to pay for the label by using their pending or available funds before the next payout is sent. Using this option you can ship right away.

I do ship right away even though I pay through my PayPal wallet.  Everything that I pay for using PayPal goes on my credit card so I can get the points.  Oh well, less points for me coming soon.
