Buyer opened a return request which automatically put the transaction payment on hold. I declined the return request as the buyer was outside of the return period (buyer understood as we spoke through messaging, plus not an expensive item). Anyway, return case closed but the payment hold remains. Anyone know how long it remains? I spoke with ebay and they seem to have no clue. They put in a request to have the hold manual released which was to take 24 hrs but that has come and gone and same issue. I have searched though the forums and see others have had the same issue. Some have been in a battle with ebay for hours trying to resolve this. I don't feel like beating the wall with ebay. Anyone else ran into this?

In my experience once the claim is resolved, it takes about 48 hours for it to clear off the hold in MP. IDK why it takes them so long. I've asked myself and have never yet even received an answer as to why, but I have found them to be pretty darn consistent with this.

has been 4 days now and still shows the hold pending. 2 days since ebay told me check back in 24 hrs.

Likely everything is fine. Pending payments usually clear in 1-2 days. Then it moves to Available for transfer. It will then transfer on the next available BUSINESS day if you do Daily deposits. If you do Weekly deposits, then it would transfer on the next Tuesday. Once transferred it takes 1-4 days to arrive at your bank.
You are well within that window.
What do your numbers tell you in the Seller Hub, Payments Tab, Summary?

I have funds held since April 29. The buyer closed the case on April 30th. Today is May 9th and they are still holding the funds. On the : "Seller Hub / All Transactions / On Hold Funds" it still shows Hold for return ID (blue link) and "open" with a blue dot below that. When I click on the link to the return ID number, it takes me to a page that says - This return is closed, this return was closed on April 30th because the buyer closed the return. ....Yet they still haven't released my funds.

this is not a pending payment, this is a hold after a buyer opened a return request. the hold was for $19.99, which put my balance in the negative at -$19.99. Still pending as of today. Has been over a week.

mine shows the exact same thing. My balance went into the negative which my recent transactions covered. So now ebay owes me $19.99. Still shows on hold after the initial return request was opened on April 30. I closed the request the same day. Ebay is no help, they are clueless to the issue

Has the claim been resolved? Or is it still open? As long as the claim is open, it will remain on hold in your MP account. Once it is resolved it takes them about 48 hours to release the funds.
I really don't like the hold process in MP. I've done a lot of complaining about this process myself. It is not a very efficient or fair process.

Was this an INR or an INAD? How did you "close" the request? By refunding it? Or was it a properly filed Buyer's Remorse claim that you denied?

Yes, SELLERS BE AWARE. Buyers are just as shady as some of these sellers we see haha. Just happened to me that, the buyer freaked out for a minuscule tear on an inner sleeve for vinyl, as well as letting me know how much of an unprofessional I am. What puts the sugar on top is that it was listed in the condition description. Not 8 hours after initiating a refund, (which is started but shouldn't have but I think I'm an understanding person), he responded along the lines of saying his temper was out of line (No fooling, Zappa reference) and even had the audacity to say he'd buy from me again. Maybe in the next lifetime? Like most of these answers I'm reading, they're all pretty consistent. 1-4 Business days. take into consideration your bank/credit union policies on third-party money transfers, there's always some bureaucratic Hubba-baloo.
