Have any of you been contacted through ebay message that your account is on hold until you upload your drivers license and bank statement. They said it was because they were managed payments and needed to verify that information.

Yes!
There are many methods that eBay uses to verify sellers, drivers license and bank statement is one of the ways.
If you do not comply you won't be able to get paid.

Yes.
If you search this board for the words "bank statement" or "driver's license" you will find multiple threads from sellers who were asked for this information.

Yes but only on 1 of 3 accounts. I used my pistol permit for i.d., you don't have to use a drivers license

If you're lucky, once you provide the information, they will release your account. In my case, I was not so lucky. I was asked to provide documents for verification about two weeks ago. After I provided the required documents, they lifted the hold on my account. A day later, they put another hold because they claimed I had too many complaints from buyers who have not received their items. I have a 100% rating and no open cases. The last case was filed over 6 months ago and it was closed in my favor. I also don't have any recent complaints or messages from buyers about missing items or delayed shipments. I called and emailed customer service to ask about the complaints. No one was able to find any complaints against me. They all gave me a generic response that I needed to resolve the open cases in the Resolution Center. It made no sense because there was nothing to resolve because I didn't have any open cases. I was then told to just wait. After a week of contacting eBay by phone, email, Twitter, and Facebook, they finally lifted the hold. However, almost immediately, they put a 30 day hold on my funds. The reasoning is they want to make sure buyers receive their items. Now, I have to wait for buyers to receive their items and physically confirm satisfactory receipt. I'm not sure what is going on. I have been selling on eBay for over 16 years with no issues. I follow the rules and always try to provide the best customer service. For some reason, eBay has decided to treat me like I'm out to scam buyers.

Where is Ebay's policy for what is done with the id information? How do sellers know how it will be used? Ebay already has a reputation for playing judge and jury in favor of buyers, just find information on seller protection. There is not much. And now wanting more info to use against sellers??
