Hello,
Is anyone else having issues entering a new Visa credit card number after the one you were using expired? It keeps telling me that the card number and the 3 digit code are invalid, but I am staring at my card now.
p.s don’t ask if my card is activated or if I have a large enough limit because the answer is yes to both of those questions.

Make sure you are not including any extra characters in your credit card number or security code. Try erasing the entire field and entering only numbers again by hand.
It is possible that the error message is pointing you in the wrong direction -- check to make sure that your expiration date is in the correct format as that could certainly cause an error. And check that all the other data on that page is correct.
I recall one user ran into problems by including special characters in the name field because the user had a name with accents; re-entering the name using standard characters allowed the payment info to be updated in that case.
Are you entering this data on ebay.ca? If I try to enter payment data on another site, I get redirected to the US ebay.com site.

Where are you trying to change it? If in Accounts/ Payment, try opening "Add New Payments", add new card then deleat the old one. If the card number is the same, try just editing the other parts as needed.

I realize this is a very old post but I simply wanted to help those looking for the solution in the future...for some reason ebay doesnt use the cvv2 3 digit code from back of certain cards (newer cards with numbers all on the back). You must enter the 4 digit code (the only numbers) on the front if the card to successfully add payment method.

1. Verify Card Details:Double-check that you're entering the card number and the three-digit security code (CVV/CVC) correctly. Even a small mistake in the digits or spacing can cause the system to consider the information invalid.
2. Check Expiration Date: Ensure that the expiry date entered matches the one printed on your new card. Sometimes, expirations dates can be misread or confused with other dates on the card.
3. Contact Your Card Issuer: Reach out to the customer service department of your credit card issuer. They can provide assistance in determining if there are any issues with your card or if there are specific requirements for entering the new card details on the platform you're using.

I’ll probably never find out, but I’m wondering why the OP had to enter a new card number. My banks have always sent me cards with the same account number (but a different CVV and, of course, expiry date) to replace my expired cards.
