Payment pending on Debit card when used paypal

So i won an auction and went for payment. i first tried to pay with a debit card which got declined 2 times so i resorted to using paypal which was successful and went through with payment.

the issue is that now on the debit card that i initially used; there are 2 pending payment amounts of the two attempts that i’ve tried with the first time and the two amounts have been “debited” from my bank account but the payment is pending on the bank. It’s been 4 business days now like this.

called the bank they said the call Ebay because it’s not an issue on their end.

will these pending payments go through? the order is already completed and I paid another way i don’t want them to take the money for those two attempts for no reason…

If the debit transactions failed, you may be seeing a payment hold on the original payment amount. If so, the holds should eventually end, leaving the held funds in your account.

How many days would the hold usually be. it’s been like this for 4 full business days so far…my account is currently overdrafted because of this

That would likely depend on your bank and the particular circumstances of your overdraft.

That is a temp hold. It will go away.

' 4 business days'...from Friday afternoon to Monday after 9AM a bank will not count these days.

We need to look at full business days excluding Saturday and Sunday.

And in the USA I use my debit card for payments all the time.

If you have banking online on computer or iPhone you can check the issue and even dispute the charge online.
