A buyer has the winning bid after an auction closes but fails to make payment despite being invoiced by the seller and reminded to make payment by ebay. After four days, the seller cancels the order and does not repost the item. Does the seller of this item get paid anything through ebay? If so, what does the seller get paid if the buyer was to pay for the item plus shipping? Appreciate any insights as no payment is currently showing as scheduled by ebay.

As for re-listing that is the sellers choice
Are you the buyer or seller ?
If the seller cancels the listing after 4 days, and uses the proper choice for the cancel, buyer did not pay, the buyer, under the new non-payment cancel policy , will indeed get a strike.
Ok. This was my understanding (that the buyer would get a strike). I also thought that when the order was cancelled, the seller also received a final value credit through eBay but it seems this is not the case and I must have misunderstood that part.
Unlike the process when in PP where the FVF was assessed as soon as the listing ended with a winner, in MP, as I understand it, there is no FVF charge until the buyer pays. FVF is deducted when the buyer pays.

You can not pay for an item after transaction is cancelled
The seller may have already blocked buyer so even if seller relists may not be able to bid from this seller again

How was the buyer able to pay if the item was actually cancelled?
What reason was given when the item was cancelled?

After 4 days eBay will cancel or the seller can cancel as Unpaid.
Since there was no payment from the BUYER , the seller will received all fees eBay charged them back.
Most sellers have the system set to block all "buyers" with 2 or more Unpaid items in 12 months.
Also once a buyer has not paid for an item they won AND cost the seller time and potentially a sale to someone who would pay, most sellers will add that buyer to their Blocked list.

How would the seller get paid anything if no payment was made?
And as another posted.............. a cancelled listing can not be paid for.

THat IS what i stated but i can see NOW how it reads
You are right a nonpayment strike is indeed given

The reason listed for cancellation was non-payment. In researching this topic, I thought ebay mentions that in this scenario, a seller receives a final value credit after the order is canceled. Posted the question as I was unsure. Thank you.

Asking as the seller.

I could be wrong, but isn't the .30 fee for payment processing? If it's an auction and the buyer never pays, the seller shouldn't be charged .30.

OK 😂😁😀
I also now see what you meant.
I read buyer gets no payment strike, to mean that the buyer gets no payment strike.

You may be right about that fee only held if payment was made
